Here in Gore Bay we have a full-service financial institution – the Bank of Montreal. Don't be fooled by the name, though. You don't need to speak French to do business at the bank,
and the fast, friendly and efficient team can help boaters from both sides of the Canada/US border. Banking hours are 10 am to 4pm, Monday to Thursday, with a 5:30 pm closing time on
Perhaps the most valuable part of the bank for boaters is the cash machine. It's a full-featured ATM, it's available 24/7 and it dispenses Canadian currency, even when drawing from US or foreign accounts.
Deborah Woods is the manager at the bank, and everyone there is used to being called by their first name. It's that small town thing again. Call the bank at 705-282-2490.
We're proud of our full-service post office here in Gore Bay. That's it on the left, so if you want to mail off a post card or package, we've got you covered. Experienced postmaster Kim Kelly and her team offers fast, friendly and efficient service. Stop in an see for yourself.
The building itself is one of the nicest vintage commercial buildings in town, too. Originally built in 1930, the brickwork and interior oak trim are all classic and original.
In addition to regular post office stuff, you'll find postcards to send back home, collectible coins for purchase and the ability to ship and receive packages. Boaters often use the Gore Bay post office as a destination for goods or parts shipped in from away. Seasonal boaters can rent post office boxes here, too. Call the post office at 705-282-2452.
